Own Your Frontier

Our purpose

Americans should not have to settle for less.

Own Your Frontier exists to help working Americans gain the ownership, opportunity and independence to build a life on their own terms.

A place to begin

A home of your own. A future you can shape.

Hard work should open doors: a place to put down roots, a skill that earns a living, a business to build, something lasting to pass on. Too often, the distance between effort and opportunity feels wider than it should.

Own Your Frontier is a program of American Dream Foundation. We are beginning with homeownership. Our first program focuses on the gap between a mortgage a working household can sustain and a suitable home in the community where they want to live.

Our broader ambition includes earning power, productive ownership and the resilience to keep what people have built. Each new area needs its own evidence, partners, funding and clear terms before it becomes a service.

Explore the homeownership approach

Ownership. Opportunity. Independence.

The freedom to choose your next chapter.

Put down roots

Make a home possible with a payment the household can carry and a full understanding of the responsibility ahead.

Our first program

Build earning power

Explore practical routes into skilled work and productive ownership, connected to real demand and experienced partners.

The wider vision

Keep moving forward

Design for the years after the initial help: sustainable costs, a plan for setbacks and progress that can be measured.

Build with us

A life on your own terms can include renting, a smaller home, a different career or a move you choose. Our mission is to expand meaningful choices.

What guides us

Ambition with responsibility.

  • A life on your own terms

A home, a trade, a business, room to grow. Progress should give people more say in their lives. Each household gets to decide what a good life means to them.

  • Help that holds up

Getting through the door is only the beginning. A sound plan accounts for the bills, the setbacks and the responsibilities that come with ownership.

  • Clear terms, clear choices

People deserve to understand what help is available, what it requires and what they may owe later, before they commit.

  • Evidence people can inspect

We publish the research and the assumptions behind our illustrations. A model shows what could happen; the public ledger reports what has happened.

  • More opportunity from each contribution

The housing approach is designed to return recoverable capital to the fund. Repayment timing and losses matter, so future assistance cannot be promised in advance.

The work should be visible.

Read the evidence behind the housing program, inspect the funding illustrations and follow the fund's reported activity. Homebuyer information belongs in a private application process; public reporting should describe the work without exposing a household's circumstances.

Help shape what comes next

Local knowledge. Shared ambition.

We welcome conversations with employers, housing counselors, lenders, communities, trade programs and experienced business-support organizations. A useful partnership starts with a specific obstacle, a practical way through it and a way to know whether it worked.
